Commemorative plaque for Jean de Galimard

One small step for our visitors, one giant step for the history of Galimard.

Recently, we discussed the history of perfumery and the role that Jean de Galimard played in the evolution of the city of Grasse.

Part of the joy of visiting a city is understanding its history and the lives of those who contributed to making it great. If you wish to walk in the footsteps of our illustrious founder, and are curious about where he lived – you will love what’s coming next:

On Wednesday the 15th of June 2022, we had the honor of inaugurating a commemorative plaque for our founder, Jean de Galimard, in the historical center of Grasse. This installation is a historical recognition of the role of Jean de Galimard in the development of the perfume capital.

We would like to thank the Mayor of Grasse, Jérôme Viaud , the Deputy Delegate for Culture and Patrimony, Nicolas Doyen and Nicole Nutini, Mayor Deputy, for bringing this project to fruition.

We would also like to thank the Deputy Michèle Tabarot and the Mayor of Spéracèdes Jean-Marc Macario for your presence and constant support. We thank Chantal Roux for the research that solidified this project, and express our gratitude to all of our dear friends who support la Maison Galimard.

During your visit in Grasse, take a walk through the city center to see the plaque!

It’s located just around the corner from the Place aux Aires, at 4 de la Rue des Quatre Coins. This is the house where Jean de Galimard, Viguier and Perfumer-Glover, lived in 1650.
