Enter the secret world of perfumery in Grasse

Whether you are a perfume enthusiast, or are the lucky recipient of a gift card for the Studio des Fragrances in Grasse, the arrival of the sunny days of Spring in the south of France is just the boost needed to inspire creativity, and provides the best excuse to check out the cradle of perfumery in the heart of Grasse.

We have prepared a collection of must-see places that are all within an hour of the Studio des Fragrances Galimard, to help you create the itinerary for an unforgettable day. Fragrances, magnificent panoramas, cultural visits, local product tastings, the region surrounding Grasse has it all, and la Maison Galimard, being an integral part of the fabric of this region for centuries, is delighted to share our address book with you !

Now, about that gift card that will transform you into a student of perfumery : three sessions are available, but if we may offer some advice – the 10am session is a great way to kick off your day in Grasse. That way, you’ll have accomplished something magical all before 12pm – you’ll be ready to grab a bite to eat and continue on to your next adventures.

Explore the historic heart of Grasse after your perfume workshop

Starting from the Studio des Fragrances Galimard, you can continue your experience with a complimentary guided tour of the Usine-Musée Galimard, before heading into the old town of Grasse. Wander through its sun-drenched squares, admire the magnificent Cathédrale Notre-Dame-du-Puy de Grasse—home to remarkable paintings by Peter Paul Rubens—and explore the Musée International de la Parfumerie, the perfect complement to your “apprentice perfumer” training.

Be sure to stop by the renowned Maison Venturini for a few gourmet treats, such as the iconic orange blossom fougassette or freshly made nougat prepared on site.

Gardens, panoramic views, and fragrant plants around Grasse

Your day in Grasse continues with a slightly more energetic stroll up to the Jardin de la Princesse Pauline, where you’ll enjoy sweeping panoramic views over the town and surrounding countryside. Napoleon’s sister, Pauline Bonaparte, was particularly fond of this spot and inspired a fragrance whose signature note is the Centifolia rose—one of Grasse’s floral emblems.

Speaking of roses, why not extend your exploration to the Jardins du MIP in nearby Mouans-Sartoux? Located just ten kilometers from Grasse along the legendary Route Napoléon, these gardens serve as a conservatory for perfume plants. Alongside local aromatic species, you’ll discover more exotic varieties such as patchouli and cinnamon—delighting curious visitors and budding botanists alike.

Hilltop villages and the Loup Valley: extend your Côte d’Azur experience

Following the mythic Route Napoléon back toward Grasse, take a turn toward the Loup Valley, overlooked by the spectacular hilltop village of Gourdon, perched dramatically on a rocky outcrop. Stroll through its winding lanes lined with ancient stone houses, step inside the La Source Parfumée Galimard—a former distillery—to sample exquisitely scented creations, and finish at the breathtaking viewpoint offering sweeping vistas of the sea, the coastline, and on exceptionally clear days, even distant Corsica.

On your way down from this charming village, you have two options: cool off along the banks of the Loup River, where crystal-clear waters ripple gently, or follow the river by car to the delightful village of Tourrettes-sur-Loup, famed for its violet festival held every year on the first weekend of March. Here again, narrow streets and old stone houses create the impression of wandering through a traditional Provençal nativity scene.

Fragrances, panoramic views, gourmet delights—the Grasse region promises a sensory journey at every turn. Don’t hesitate to come and discover its countless treasures. We look forward to welcoming you.
