A Perfume Just for You

“Finding a fragrance to match my personality,” having a “custom ” scent, or even “wearing a perfume that no one else wears,” are requests we often hear from our clients.
Many of them can find the right fragrance in our shops thanks to the wide range we offer. Galimard perfumes encompass numerous olfactory families ; since the beginning of our perfumery, we strive to stand out with original and unique creations.
However, even after finding “THE” ideal perfume, one may want something else, more personal and intimate, or desire to unleash an inner inspiration and (re)discover the pleasure of creating something totally bespoke. That’s what our former perfumer understood, and that’s what inspired him to develop our Fragrance Studio: a place for personalized creations where everyone can compose their own perfume with the assistance of a competent and caring team.
If you’re skeptical and think it’s “for the pros,” or “I have no nose,” or even “I’m not talented enough,” think again! Our workshops are for everyone and require no other skill than curiosity and the desire to create. Then… let Galimard be your guide!
When you sit in front of the organ and its 126 bottles, you might be intimidated at first, but this first impression will quickly fade, we promise! With explanations and the help of perfume assistants, you’ll find yourself caught up in the game of discovery and composition. Olfactory pyramid, top notes, heart notes, base notes, these terms will no longer be a mystery to you! You might be surprised to hear our team repeat “don’t worry about the names, follow your instinct”: we can only recommend applying this advice throughout the workshop.
It’s important to remember that when you buy a perfume in a store, it’s “finished”; you rarely can distinguish each note separately from the others. During a creation workshop, you “compose by decomposing” in a way since each note is chosen, first alone, and then in combination with the previous ones. So don’t forget that you’re here to discover and let yourself be surprised! Disconnect your brain and let your nose guide you: just because you usually don’t like vanilla doesn’t mean you won’t like ours from the organ! How many customers who initially stated “I hate sweet perfumes” choose the praline note and accompany it with almond, tonka bean, and end up with peach and mango? Even more numerous are those who, convinced they dislike floral perfumes, create delightful bouquets of jasmine, lily of the valley, and lilac? And they leave delighted, of course!
There are different ways to approach our creation workshop.
Either you come with no preconceived idea and solely guided by curiosity: in this case, feel free to experiment, discover each note, and choose according to your mood of the day and your inspiration.
You have a fairly precise idea of the type of perfume you want to create: oriental, woody, spicy, gourmand, a citrusy perfume for the summer… and you don’t want to go through all the bottles? No problem, our team will offer you a selection of notes that correspond to what you’re looking for.
The possibilities are endless, and if you choose the notes without bias, spontaneously and following your intuition, the result will meet your expectations. However, we strongly advise against arriving with the idea of “redoing” an existing or past perfume, trying to find on our organ the notes that compose it (found randomly on the internet…): firstly, this is absolutely impossible and disappointment is guaranteed, and secondly, by doing so, you might miss out on notes that you would enjoy.
